Amongst the most significant factors constraining social and economic development in Tibetan areas of China is the currently underdeveloped state of local healthcare systems. By investing in both traditional and western medical systems, Trace Foundation's projects in healthcare seek, through cooperation with local government and community organizations, to increase access to and improve the quality of local healthcare.
Accordingly, Trace sponsors both pre-professional and in-service health worker training, documenting indigenous medical traditions, and providing local clinics with essential resources.
